Co-Treasurer (Student Accounts): Open Seat
Term ends January 2026
Kirsten Barber (Candidate)-
I am running for the Student Accounts Treasurer position. This organization has become a second family to my kids and I would like to do more to help. Over the last three years, I have volunteered in many different ways and while I've enjoyed the 313 events, "feed the band" experience and chaperoning the most, this is a position that I know I will excel in, if given the opportunity.
I have college degrees in Accounting and Business Administration (Finance). Many of the professional roles I've held over the last 20+
years have been as a bookkeeper with the responsibility of maintaining accurate financial accounts and records. I've worked for a busy medical office, a dental office, CPA firm and non-profit over these years. With everything that this program has done to build friendships, self-confidence and provide fantastic opportunities for my children, I would be honored to serve in this role.

Amy Pero (Candidate)-
Term ends January 2026
Hi, my name is Amy Pero and my son, Cole, is a member of the Alto section in LOMB and Symphonic Band. He is also a member of Winter Winds. He loves being a part of the band program - it has been so good for him!
I am running for the position of Accounts Treasurer. I am interested in this role first and foremost because I care deeply about supporting this program and the kids involved. I have seen first hand the profound impact this program can have on its participants and I want to do all I can to help LOMB and LOBB continue to grow.
This position, in particular, fits my strengths well and is where I feel I can have the greatest impact. I am organized, efficient and goal oriented. I have great time management skills. I am a team player. I am inclusive, respectful, and easy to work with.
This is my second time with a child in LOMB as my daughter Ella, a 2022 graduate, was a member of the Marching Band for 2 years in Color Guard. I have 4 kids, two of which are in college, then Cole, who is in 10th grade and my youngest, Adia, is in 8th grade.
I have a long history of volunteerism within the school system. For seven years I filled leadership volunteer roles. I served on the PTO Board at Stadium Drive for 3 years (Secretary and Vice President), and I was the PTO President at Scripps for 4 years. In both roles I worked on maintaining financial records, setting budgets, and providing general accounting help. I also served as a Girl Scout Leader for 7 years, with 6 of those years having two separate troops. That role required a great deal of accounting work with budgeting, record keeping and management and tracking of individual members accounts.
At the high school level, I served as a concession manager for two years for LOBB when my older daughter was in the program. I am serving as a part time manager now, and I have stepped in as a substitute manager during the time I did not have a child in the program. My husband and I participated in 313 both years and I was a lead whenever needed. I try to help out wherever possible, helping with concert uniforms, and organizing meals for Winter Winds.
Beyond my leadership volunteer roles, I have spent a significant amount of time volunteering in classrooms and have volunteered in district wide committees after being invited to do so by the former superintendent.
I have an undergraduate degree and a graduate professional degree. I have a very good working knowledge of Excel.
I believe I have the skills, personality, and, most importantly, the motivation and desire needed to make a meaningful contribution to this program.
Thank you!

Scott Seeley (Candidate)-
Happy Holidays to all of you! My name is Scott Seeley and I am running for the Lake Orion Band Boosters position of Budget Treasurer. I am a father of four, one graduate of Yale Public Schools, a senior in Lake Orion, a Junior at Yale High School and an eighth grader at Scripps Middle School. My senior at Lake Orion, Regina, was a member of the Marching Band over the past four years. My eighth grader, Emilio, also plans to be in Marching Band beginning next year. I started out with volunteering in Regina’s freshman year as a part of the pit build group and volunteered for work Charity Poker. During my poker volunteering, Marcy Summerfield announced that her son, Cody, would be graduating and she would be dropping the charge of being the Charity Poker Chair. I immediately put my name in for her position and have been the Charity Poker Chairperson for the past three years. Additionally, I have volunteered to cook burgers for concessions, cooked food for the band and have worked 313 events. At this point, I would like to expand my support of the bands program and serve on the Board as Budget Treasurer. I worked for General Motors for 21 years in Finance and in my final three years I was the business case analyst for the Cadillac CT4 and CT5. My final position there was the material cost analyst for the latest Corvette model. After leaving GM, I was the Purchasing Controller for a tier 1 supplier, Gentherm in Novi, MI for 16 months where I oversaw the Purchasing Budget and performance tracking for our North American Operations. After Gentherm, I was hired by Purem in Novi, another tier 1 supplier, where I became the Procurement Controller four years ago. Since then, I have been responsible for their budget and performance tracking and have created a process that has become the Global Benchmark for our company. As well, I am extremely proficient in MS Excel and am familiar with QuickBooks Plus. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Melissa Roths
Hello, my name is Melissa Roths. I am excited to announce that I am running for Communications Secretary. I have 10+ years of experience with IT and I also have a communication background. I was one of the site managers for a large office and handled developing and implementing communication plans. I worked side by side with the district managers to coordinate meetings, social media posts, community outreach and email blasts for the company.
I have been a part of this amazing program since 2018 when my daughter, Allura, brought home a “try us out” flyer. Little did we know what the positive impact on our lives this program would be all these years later. Although most of my time was spent behind the scenes doing hair, makeup and uniforms for the Colorguard until 2022 I was always helping any way that I could. Without hesitation, I eagerly jumped into working with the Lake Orion Marching Band & Lake Orion Percussion on props and uniforms when my son, Aiden, fell in love with percussion. I saw firsthand how much this program makes an impact on the students lives and little did I know how much it would change mine for the better as well. I’ve enjoyed every step of being a part of this amazing program and I am hoping to continue to help the band family by joining the LOMB board for 202
