Current Open Board Positions:

VP of Volunteering - Job Description:

The Vice President for Volunteers is responsible for coordinating most volunteer roles within LOBB at the high school level. Major responsibilities include volunteer recruitment and training (when appropriate), general oversight of the high school concessions and the 313 Entertainment programs, and coordination of both the Dragon Invitational and the Dragon Marching Band Exhibition. In this role, the VP-Volunteers serves as a liaison between volunteers and board members, helps match volunteers to suitable roles, and works to ensure a positive overall experience for volunteers. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Time commitment varies by month, with the heaviest demand during the LOMB season. However, this role supports both fall and winter programs, and we are exploring ways for this position to support the middle school programs as well.

VP of Fundraising - Job Description:

Coordinate Annual Fundraisers

  • The fall mum sale in partnership with local greenhouse, including ordering, scheduling, distribution, and volunteer management.

  • The annual mattress fundraiser, working with the vendor and Mr. Steele to set event date, secure event space, and coordinate publicity.

  • The Bloom for the Bands spring fundraiser with Wojos Greenhouse.

  • Organize product-based fundraisers such as cookie dough, butter braid pastries, and car decals.

Event-Based Fundraising

  • Coordinate the Holiday Brunch, including planning, logistics, and staffing.

  • Bottle and can drives throughout the year.

  • Plan and execute Dine-to-Donate events with local restaurants.

Merchandise & Spirit Wear

Administrative Duties

  • Complete and submit all required fundraising approval paperwork with the school district.

  • Ensure compliance with school policies, financial procedures, and vendor requirements.

  • Recruit volunteers to staff fundraising events where applicable.

Strategic & Creative Responsibilities

  • Continually explore new and unique fundraising opportunities to expand revenue and community engagement.

  • Collaborate with the Band Boosters board to set fundraising goals and evaluate the success of ongoing initiatives.
